Not being a big fan of science fiction, I didn't think I would enjoy In Search of A Vision, but I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The book is an easy read and the characters are so fleshed out and full of life that I had to keep reading to find out more. Michael White is very skillful at telling a story and I can't wait to read more from him. I recommend this book highly. Great job Michael and keep up the good work.Product details

Anytime you can take a Sci Fi theme and put a different spin on things, you have my attention! A MUST READ!!
I enjoyed this book...could not put it down. I loved that it was set in the future and made the reader take a look at society today from a different point of view. I am looking forward to reading more from Michael White.
This book has something that everyone will be able to relate to. The Author has a way of pulling you into this novel thru his characters. The more I read, the more connected I became to certain characters. Without giving the story/plot away, I just want to say that I cant wait for future stories from this Author. I enjoyed reading "In Search of A Vision"
In Search of A Vision is an interesting read. It's approach to a "new world" is visionary, insightful, and offers an alternative to all of the already multiple writings of post-apocalyptic genre. The writer, Michael White, is a new age visionary with an eye for change. In Search...is a well written, concise, well developed piece of literature which crosses into new ground, new territories. Readers will be surprised, entertained and engaged throughout. If you want something new, something cutting edge, something different, In Search of A Vision is book. Being a fan of science fiction and novels of thoroughly ruminated and cohesive stories that integrate the gay lifestyle, this book I am delighted to say satisfied me on both counts! The characters and plot devices were engaging and compelling and quite often seemed to me to read like a script. As I became more engrossed in the unfolding saga, I began to cast the characters in my mind as I might a film and the writer's style easily lends itself to a cinematic approach. I enjoyed every page and was reluctant to put it down, eager to discover the next nugget of imaginative lore.
Set on our planet surviving a future cosmic calamity, we slowly become immersed in a new society and landscape that challenges the mores and society of present day. Norms are inverted and the new leaders are a peaceful and noble lot descended of the gay leather world of this century. Society has become gay oriented and dominated. However, the human race is still the human race and not all is as it seems. Mutated races of formerly lower species have evolved in the aftermath as well and the rules of society become forever altered as an ancient promise becomes an all encompassing quest!
Mr. White compels us to reexamine the boundaries and fallacies of our present day. The author also gives us endearing characters and plot twists to provide entertaining and absorbing reading.
All in all a delightful pleasure read for all fans of science fiction and a plus for those drawn to gay themes and heroes as well.
This is not a sexist story or a soft porn sci-fi novel as the indicator on this listing suggests. "A Boner Book" is a misnomer. Mr. White has successfully written those as well (see "A Day At The Beach", which I highly recommend in the Boner Book genre). This is NOT a one handed book and everyone is invited to be captivated by the narrative and its stirring characters.
I sincerely hope Mr. White has more stories to share with us.
Other reviewers have done a good job of provding plot details. I wanted to comment on the style and readability of this short work. It's the kind of read you can carry with you and enjoy over the weekend. I love being able to start and finish a good book in just a few sittings. While crisp and easy to read, it is also thoughtful and germaine to current social and political scenarios we see playing out every day. Not quite Asimov in character, and only a touch of Vonnegut in delivery, it still packs a smack to the noggin and to our senses. There's plenty of action and lots of scenery to take in. I'd like to see a touch more narrative in the future installments of White's works, but for now, you can pop a cool one and enjoy a mighty fine read. While the book is mildly erotic, this is not a one-hander. But, on the other hand, reading and enjoying it is a no-brainer! Give it a read and see for yourself.
